The Closing of the Bones Ceremony is an ancient postpartum ritual, also used in any other transition one goes through in life.

To birth you must expand on all levels! This ceremony is to honour and make sense of the shift and aid in bringing balance & healing, to return you back to the body.

Here is the flow of proceedings:

* We arrive & ground together

* We listen & share in your birth story, POSTPARTUM JOURNEY, OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT NEEDS TO BE HEARD AND HELD.

* PERFORM THE WRAPPING/HOLDING CEREMONY.

*TIME TO SLOWLY INTEGRATE WITH A WARM CUP OF TEA.

THE WRAPPING IS DONE WITH TRADITIONAL WOVEN CLOTHS FROM MEXICO CALLED A REBOZO, THESE HAVE BEEN GIFTED TO US BY OUR TEACHER RACHELLE GARCIA SELIGA. WE WRAP THE BODY TO CREATE A COMFORTING HOLD, THEN A RELEASE. THIS PHYsically EASES THE PELVIC BONES BACK INTO ALIGNMENT AND PROTECTS THE BODY FROM POTENTIAL FUTURE ALIMENTS IF LEFT in the locked OPEN birthing position, or not tended to.

Mentally, EMOTIONALLY & SPIRITUALLY IT IS A MOMENT IN TIME TO HELP INTEGRATE YOUR EXPERIENCE AND COME BACK TO YOURSELF. A FEELING THAT WE OFTEN YEARN FOR AFTER A BIG CHANGE OR WHAT HAS BEEN MISSING YEARS AFTER A TRANSITION HAS OCCURRED.

WE BEGIN WITH AN INFORMATIVE EDUCATIONAL PIECE & DISCUSSION ON THE 5 PILLARS OF POSTPARTUM CARE. FROM THIS FOUNDATION OF WISDOM, YOU'LL COLLABORATIVELY DEVELOP A PERSONALISED CARE PLAN TO CREATE THE CONDITIONS FOR A THRIVING POSTPARTUM TIME.

Mothers!…this is not yet another emotional load to take on on your own…this is best done in community with those who will be your village at this special time. May we all ‘remember’ this knowledge so that we can pass it down, creating a field of resonance for each baby to be born into to. Your postpartum time can be a way to empower communities, through witnessing you heal while acknowledging your important role as Mother.

This Mother’s circle happens every fortnight on a Monday (2nd & 4th of every week). It is for all postpartum mothers, no matter the age of your children. You could be freshly postpartum or have older children and felt you are still needing repair, perhaps your postpartum time was not how you wanted or expected.
