yin yoga

whiro / new moon

The dark moon leads us inward toward a gentle restorative yin yoga practice held once a month to honour this phase.

Yin yoga works with the connective tissue, joints & the energetic meridian lines within the body. A deep, slow, meditative, floor based practice. We hold & breathe with approx 5 yoga shapes for the duration of the class.

The vinyasa flow is our foundational practice. This is a flow of movement to the rhythm of your breath, activating the belly of your muscles.

The practice is made up of sun salutations, balance, back bends & deep stretching. We finish with sāvasana relaxation.

flow & pranayama

rākaunui / full moon

We are at full tide during the full moon, and so we inspect or intro-spect what has been washed upon our shore.

The practice of pranayama is a way to calm the fluctuations of the mind. This is breath-work. ‘Prana’ is our life force (breath), ‘yama’ is a reigning in or control / mastery of..

Welcome to a vinyasa flow with an emphasis on the breath. A powerful way to harness this full moon energy.
