Postpartum care: work with us

Offerings at a glance:

Postpartum care is most supportive when it is entered into intentionally.

We offer structured containers of in-home care designed to provide steadiness, nourishment, and guided support during this significant transition. Each offering is shaped around the lived realities of families and adapted to meet the needs of the mother at the centre.

❋ Six-Week Guided Postpartum Container

Our most comprehensive offering. A structured six-week arc of in-home care guided by the Plan, Protect, Restore model.

❋ Three-Week Foundational Support

A shorter period of structured care focused on preparation and early protection. Suitable for families seeking support during the initial weeks after birth.

❋ REPAIR Session

A session focused on physical recovery, nervous system regulation, and integration. Suitable for mothers at any stage postpartum. This can be done in home or on zoom.

❋ Closing of the Bones

A traditional postpartum ritual designed to honour the transition into motherhood and support integration after birth. Offered as a stand-alone session or included within the Six-Week Guided Postpartum Container.

A Cultural Shift in How We Prepare for Baby

We live in a culture that spends thousands preparing for the baby — prams, cots, clothes, subscriptions — and very little preparing for the mother.

Yet the nervous system of the mother shapes the nervous system of the baby.

If you are gathering to celebrate a new life, we invite you to consider something different.

What if part of the baby shower was pooled toward postpartum care?
What if friends and family contributed to nourishment, integration sessions, or in-home support instead of more newborn outfits?

Many families who work with us — especially second and third time parents — tell us the same thing:

“It wasn’t the gear we were missing. It was support.”

You are welcome to:

  • Create a Postpartum Support Fund

  • Add care sessions to your registry

  • Invite loved ones to contribute toward your recovery

  • Ask grandparents to gift care instead of more baby items

When a mother is nourished, the whole family benefits.

This is not indulgence.
This is infrastructure.

Repair

A restorative space for lifelong postpartum

Are you years into your postpartum time and feel drawn to traditional care — but didn’t receive it when you needed it most?

Do you sense there are pieces of your experience that need to be heard, integrated or gently grieved in order to feel more settled in your mothering?

Postpartum is not just a season after birth.
After any pregnancy, you are postpartum for life.

Repair was created with this understanding.

This two-hour session offers a dedicated space to return and tend to what may have been left unsupported — physically, emotionally or relationally — during pregnancy, birth and early postpartum.

Each session is shaped around you. It may include:

  • Birth integration work

  • Nervous system support and grounding touch

  • Abdominal or womb care

  • Creating a “postpartum bubble” of nourishment in your current season

  • Deep listening and guided reflection

Sessions are available in-home throughout the Wairarapa, or online via Zoom — ensuring this work is accessible wherever you are.

This space acknowledges something profound:

Many of us are re-parenting ourselves while parenting the next generation. We are healing generational patterns without always having been shown how to care for ourselves.

Repair is not about fixing you.
It is about restoring what was missing.
About remembering how to be held.

Even years later, that restoration is possible.

Closing of the bones ceremony

A ceremonial integration for the Mother

Closing of the Bones is an ancient postpartum ritual found across many cultures around the world. It is also used to honour any profound life transition.

Because to birth, you must expand — on every level, body, heart & mind.

This ceremony exists to gently support the closing and integration of that opening. To honour the shift. To make sense of what has occurred. To return you back to your body.

Held over approximately two hours, you are welcomed into a warm, quiet and intentional space. We begin by arriving and grounding together. There is no rush.

You are then invited to share your birth story, your postpartum journey, or anything that feels unfinished, unspoken or still living within you. Being witnessed is an essential part of this ritual. What has been lived deserves to be heard and held.

From there, the body is tended.

Using traditional woven Mexican cloths called Rebozos — gifted to us by our teacher — your body is wrapped in a rhythmic sequence that creates deep containment. Each layer provides a firm, comforting hold, followed by a conscious release.

This wrapping is both physical and symbolic.

Physically, it supports the pelvis and womb space after birth, encouraging alignment after the expansive, “open” state required to bring life through. When this open pattern is not consciously tended to, it can linger in the body. The ceremony supports structural coherence and protection moving forward.

Mentally, emotionally and spiritually, it offers something many women quietly yearn for — a defined moment of completion. A sealing of the threshold. A return to self after immense change.

The session closes slowly, integrating over warmth and stillness.

Many women describe feeling:

  • A deep exhale

  • Re-centred in themselves

  • Emotionally complete in their birth journey

  • Clearer, stronger and more embodied

This ceremony can be received in the early weeks postpartum, months later, or years after birth. There is no expiry date on integration.

Closing of the Bones is not about going back to who you were.

It is about honouring who you have become — and sealing that becoming with dignity.
